The Book of Proverbs contains 31 chapters of wisdom for our daily lives. A good portion of it was written by King Solomon, the wisest and most successful man in all of human history. I would say that since he was the wisest man on earth, he has some pretty good insights to teach us how to glorify the Lord and become wise. Proverbs 1:7 tells us: “The fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge.” I trust this resource from the NIV Life Applications Study Bible will be a blessing to you. This is truly a book about wise living. It often focuses on a person’s response and attitude toward God, who is the source of wisdom. And a number of proverbs point out aspects of God’s character. Knowing God helps us on the way to wisdom.
